RAHUL DRAVID "THE WALL" MAKES HISTORY IN OTHER FORM

Rahul Dravid is one of the name to reckon with when you talk about Indian or even International Cricket. The Bangalore lad joined Cricket as one of the Test Player basically selected for his skills as a Batsman. Rahul Dravid proved that he was the perfect pick and made his place in the One Day Cricket. Later he got the title "The Wall" because of his performance before the wicket. Whereas he had to struggle a lot as a one day batsman. He was severely criticized for his slow game in one day. But he worked hard and gave a perfect answer to his critics.
Rahul Dravid when joined Indian Cricket he was one of the safest hand of that time. Later Yuvraj Singh, Md. Kaif and many others came in and India got better fielders than him. Though in his carrier he hardly made any silly folly in the field. This has paid off now as he is the "highest catch taker" in Test Cricket. But if we see the statistics Mark Waugh took 181 catches in 121 Test Matches where as Rahul Dravid stand at 184 in 134 matches. It can’t be said that Rahul Dravid is a better fielder than what Mark Waugh was. Although it consoles me that a Indian has broken a record of a Australian legend.
Rahul Dravid has proved his ability as a Cricket player time and again. He was Indian Vice Captain for a long period of time and Captain for a short duration. He is very calm and cool minded determined person. He is very sophisticated in his talks and encounters. During worst times also he has shown that he is really a man who can handle situations with a calm composure of mind.
He is a person who can go a long way in any kind of field in which he selects post his retirement. I firmly believe he should be the one to contest election when he retires and be part of the active electoral politics. He fits perfectly in the place of a leader with good image. He must not let it go.
